A driver escaped injury when his car caught fire in a remote stretch of Pleasant View Road.
The Leitchfield Fire Department responded to the fire in the 2800 block of Pleasant View Road at approximately 11:10 Tuesday night.
When firefighters arrived at the scene, the vehicle, a Buick Rainier, was fully engulfed in flames.
The male driver said he noticed the vehicle was smoking. He pulled onto the side of the road and exited the car just before the fire began.
It took firefighters only a short time to bring the blaze under control, and about 15 minutes to fully extinguish hot spots and ensure the fire did not spread into the heavy vegetation surrounding the vehicle.
There were no injuries reported, and firefighters cleared the scene at about 12:10 a.m. Wednesday.
