Two girls, ages 12 and 13, have been arrested in a shooting that injured two juvenile girls.

The shooting occurred on Friday, May 30, at approximately 5:30 p.m. in the 1500 block of West Chestnut Street in the Russell neighborhood in Louisville, according to a report by WAVE.com.

When police arrived at the scene, they found two juvenile girls suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to University of Louisville Hospital. Both are expected to survive.

On Friday, Louisville police said a 13-year-old girl had been arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree assault. On Monday, police announced that a 12-year-old girl surrendered to authorities. She has also been charged with two counts of first-degree assault in the shooting.

The investigation is ongoing.
