Four people, including two juveniles, have been shot after a vehicle was struck by bullets 22 times.
The drive-by shooting, where occupants of a vehicle shot at another vehicle, took place Tuesday night at approximately 9:30 on Hwy 27 and Brannon Road in Nicholasville, according to a report by WKYT.com.
Following the shooting, the vehicle hit by gunfire arrived at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. The victims were identified as two small girls, a 37-year-old man and 39-year-old woman. All the vehicle’s occupants were hit by gunfire, as one of the female juveniles was shot in the leg while the other three were grazed by bullets.
“Unfortunately, no one in this case is cooperating with our investigation, including the victims,” Nicholasville Assistant Police Chief Matt Marshall told WKYT.com.
Marshall added that the two adults in the vehicle have had interactions with law enforcement for several years.
“Everything indicates that this stems from a feud, the nature of which and the history of which, is not clear to us. We intend to find out. But we anticipate it will escalate and that’s what we don’t want. We don’t want there to be another incident where someone could potentially lose their life,” Marshall told the Lexington television station.
While police believe the other vehicle involved has been identified by FLOCK cameras, no arrests have been made.
Nicholasville police and the ATF are leading the investigation.
