A Leitchfield company has been awarded the Governor’s Safety and Health Award for having over 300,000 man-hours worked without a lost time incident.

Employees and management at Mid-Park Metal Forming were presented with the award on Tuesday afternoon at the company’s facility on Salt River Road. The award was presented by the Kentucky Labor Cabinet’s Division of Occupational Safety and Health Education and Training (KYSAFE).

The award recognizes the company’s outstanding safety record, as Mid-Park Metal Forming has logged 333,182 man-hours worked – between January 1, 2021, and April 30, 2025 – without a lost time incident.

(A lost time incident, also known as a lost time injury or lost time accident, occurs when a work-related injury or illness results in an employee missing work beyond the day of the incident, according to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.)

“We are honored here at Mid-Park Metal Forming to receive the Governor’s Safety and Health Award from the Kentucky Labor Cabinet’s Division of Occupational Safety and Health Education Training,” Mid-Park CEO/President Greg Bernard said.

Bernard, noting the importance of employee safety in the workplace, added, “This shows the importance and priority we place on safety first here. This is a well-deserved award for our team.”

With approximately 370,000 companies registered in Kentucky, KYSAFE hands out only 40 to 50 safety awards per year, which illustrates Mid-Park Metal Forming’s monumental achievement of 333,182 man-hours worked without a lost time incident.

“Over four years accident free is a big achievement,” Plant Superintendent Keith Collard said. “This is all due to the work of every single team member here at Mid-Park Metal Forming. I am proud of each of them.”

Mid-Park Metal Forming, a branch of Mid-Park, Inc., provides quality metal stampings for a variety of manufacturing markets. The company also offers a full line of hardware products for the farm gate and fence industry, according to the company’s website.
