
Two people died in separate ATV crashes on Friday.
One crash occurred Friday afternoon at 3:20, as Kentucky State Police said troopers responded to the crash at Evarts ATV Park in Harlan County.
Upon arriving at the scene, troopers determined that 22-year-old Brady Castle, of Lawrenceburg, was killed in the accident.
Kentucky State Police said it will release more information as it becomes available.
Another ATV crash resulted in a drowning death in Laurel County.
Laurel County Coroner Doug Bowling said the crash happened Friday afternoon at approximately 1:40 near Wildcat Off-Road Park on Hwy 25 in East Bernstadt, approximately eight miles north of London.
The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office investigation showed that a man and woman were riding a UTV when it overturned in a stream. The female passenger, 63-year-old Penny Nelk, of Danville, Illinois, was unable to exit the vehicle and drowned, the sheriff’s office said.
The male driver was not injured.
