It’s play some more ball for a fourth team from Grayson County that is heading to the state tournament.

The Girls of Summer

Grayson County’s 7U All-Star softball team has been invited to participate in the Little League Coach Pitch Softball State Tournament.

The one-day, double-elimination tournament, held at Idle Hour Park in Springfield, will take place on July 12.

Grayson County’s squad opens play at 9:00 a.m. against Washington County. The other tournament participants are South Hardin and Frankfort.

The Boys of Summer

As K105 reported last week, three teams from Grayson County advanced to the Kentucky State Little League Baseball Tournament.

The Little League 5th District All-Star Tournament ended Wednesday night at the Kelly Stevenson Baseball Complex, as all three teams from Leitchfield Youth Baseball qualified for their respective state tournaments.

  • The 8U All-Star team came in runner up in their division, as they advance to the Kentucky State Little League Tournament in Richmond on July 12 – 15 at Richmond Little League on Lake Reba Drive.
  • The 10U and 12U All-Star teams also finished runner up in their respective divisions. Both squads advance to the Kentucky State Little League Tournament in Lebanon on July 19 – 23 at Graham Memorial Park at 525 Graham Memorial Drive.

Those tournaments are also double-elimination.
