A teenage motorcyclist has died after crossing the center line and hitting a semi-truck near Glasgow.
Kentucky State Police said troopers responded to the crash Friday afternoon at approximately 3:00 at the intersection of Scottsville Road (Hwy 31-E) and Finney Road, approximately three miles south of Glasgow.
The state police investigation showed that a 2008 Yamaha motorcycle, being driven by 19-year-old Zachary Raney, of Glasgow, was traveling south on Scottsville Road when the motorcycle crossed the center and into the path of a northbound 2020 Freightliner semi, being driven by 53-year-old Daniel P. Vega, of Louisville.
Raney was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Barren County Coroner’s Office.
Vega was not injured.
The investigation is ongoing and being led by Trooper Landon Key.
Raney was an EMT with Barren-Metcalfe County Ambulance Service and “had recently joined the Haywood Volunteer Fire Department,” according to his obituary.
