A Pulaski County man who ingested a “substantial” amount of methamphetamine prior to being arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service and Pulaski County deputies has died.
Kentucky State Police said its investigation showed that on Friday, the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Marshals Service attempted to serve an arrest warrant on 47-year-old Brian L. Turner, of Somerset, at a home on Hwy 1676.
“Prior to apprehension, Turner ingested a substantial amount of suspected methamphetamine,” according to state police.
Turner was transported to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital where he died on Saturday.
“It is suspected,” state police said, “that drugs may be a contributing factor in this investigation.”
The body was transported to the state Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort where an autopsy was performed. Toxicology results are pending.
