Donella “Dee” Mae Blain, 71, of Leitchfield, Kentucky entered eternal life with Jesus on July 23, 2025, with her husband, Denver and their children at her side. Dee was born on December 26, 1953, to Ira Sherman and Ruby Tomes Mudd, the third of seven children born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky.
She grew up in the First General Baptist Church of Shepherdsville, where she gave her life to God as a child. She married Denver Blain, Sr. on October 30, 1998. She attended The Restoration Place in Leitchfield, Kentucky.
Dee was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family. Dee enjoyed gardening in her flowerbeds and watching the hummingbirds on her feeders. Dee had a great sense of humor, a contagious laugh, and loved her mischievous little shih-tzu, Gizmo. (She also made a terrific cheesecake.)
Dee worked in a variety of careers, including as an EMT at Mercy Ambulance. The job she took most seriously and held from May 1972 until July, 2025 was being a mother.
Dee had five children, four stepchildren, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dee is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Dwayne Mudd, Harold Mudd, and Phillip Mudd, and her eldest son, John Robison.
