There was a heavy law enforcement presence in Leitchfield on Wednesday night.

Multiple law enforcement personnel were initially on Cave Mill Court before moving operations to the 300 block of Cave Mill Road at approximately 9:45 p.m. where unmarked vehicles briefly blocked the roadway.

At least one person, a male, was seen in handcuffs in the driveway of 317 Cave Mill Road, as several law enforcement personnel were seen going in and out of the home.

Screaming could also be heard coming from the residence.

K105 confirmed with local law enforcement that the operation was not being conducted by any local agency. Most of the agents involved wore vests that said, “POLICE,” without any other identifying marks or features.

One unconfirmed report indicates the operation may have been conducted, at least in part, by the U.S. Marshals Service.

In January, it was announced that the Marshals Service, DEA, ATF, and the Federal Bureau of Prisons would be allowed by the Department of Homeland Security to participate in immigration enforcement.

K105 will have more information on this story as it becomes available.
