A woman has died after falling off a jet ski accident on Lake Cumberland.
Ladonna G. Wasson, 55, of Jabez (Russell Co.), died on Tuesday evening at approximately 6:00.
According to Russell County Search & Rescue, first responders were dispatched to the Alligator 1 boat ramp after a rider-less jet ski “crossed the lake and struck the bank.”
A person on another jet ski alerted first responders that a body was floating in the water nearby. Search & rescue personnel secured the victim and brought Wasson to shore where she was pronounced deceased.
The victim was not wearing a life jacket.
The body was transported to the state Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy and cause of death determination.
