A Grayson County man wanted on multiple charges, including violating the conditions of his release, has been arrested on his second DUI charge in addition to being in possession of methamphetamine.

Kentucky State Police arrested 40-year-old Lee A. Gibson, of Big Clifty, on Tuesday night at approximately 8:30 after a trooper observed a Chevrolet Silverado with expired registration traveling west in the 9300 block of Elizabethtown Road (Hwy 62), according to the arrest citation.

The truck then turned around and began traveling east on Elizabethtown Road, the citation states, as the trooper initiated a traffic stop.

Upon making contact with Gibson, the trooper confirmed the suspect had a warrant for his arrest out of Grayson County for first-degree wanton endangerment, violating the terms of his release, harassment (no physical contact), and second-degree criminal mischief.

The trooper, after Gibson was taken into custody, observed a baggie containing methamphetamine “on the ground next to the driver’s side of the vehicle and very near to where Mr. Gibson was taken into custody,” the citation states.

Additionally, Gibson displayed bloodshot eyes and “was unable to follow my finger with his eyes when instructed to do so,” the trooper wrote in the citation.

In addition to the warrant, Gibson was charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and DUI along with non-moving violations.

Gibson was transported by the trooper to Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center for a blood draw before being lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.

Gibson’s arrest history, according to online records, includes charges for public intoxication, fourth-degree assault, menacing, third-degree terroristic threatening, violating an EPO/DVO, third-degree criminal mischief, possession of drug paraphernalia, first-degree criminal mischief, and harassment.
