Lady Cougars top Franklin-Simpson in four sets

Grayson County earned its third straight win Monday night, defeating Franklin-Simpson 3–1 at the Cougar Den.

The Lady Cougars (3–1) won by set scores of 25–22, 22–25, 25–17, 25–19. After the teams split the first two sets, Grayson County controlled the final two behind balanced play at the net and steady defense.

Senior Taylor Gaskins led the way with 12 kills, 13 digs and 3 aces. Layla Escue added 12 kills, 2 aces and a block, while Gracie Escue and Khloe Gaither combined for 17 kills and 3 blocks. Alexis Ashby guided the attack with 31 assists, and Callie Lindsey anchored the defense with 17 digs.

The Lady Cougars have now won three in a row and will travel to Whitesville Trinity on Tuesday for a district matchup.
