
One person was hospitalized when a semi-truck flipped onto its side on Shrewsbury Road (Hwy 187).
Grayson Co. Deputy Joel Baker, the Leitchfield Fire Department, Grayson Co. Emergency Management, EMS, and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet responded to the accident at approximately 1:50 Tuesday morning in the 5900 block of Shrewsbury Road.
The truck driver, hauling Little Debbie snack cakes, told K105 that as he was traveling north when he briefly looked down at his GPS, resulting in his front passenger side wheel leaving the roadway. Although the driver attempted to drive back onto the road, the semi continued to travel off the roadway before flipping onto its side.
A passenger in the truck was transported by EMS to Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. The driver was not injured.
Shrewsbury Road at the crash site was closed from the time of the crash until the scene was cleared at 5:45 a.m. Transportation cabinet personnel provided traffic control as the semi was removed from the scene.
