A woman was injured when her vehicle rolled over on Shrewsbury Road (Hwy 187).
Grayson Co. Deputy Joel Baker, the Leitchfield Fire Department, Grayson Co. Emergency Management, and EMS responded to the accident on Monday afternoon at approximately 4:15 in the 2400 block of Shrewsbury Road.
The crash occurred when a southbound Chevrolet Equinox, being driven by a woman from Roundhill, swerved to miss a vehicle that was turning right onto Shrewsbury Road from Sadler Road and slightly entered the southbound lane while making the turn, police said.
When the Chevy’s driver swerved to miss the turning vehicle, the Equinox left the roadway and entered a ditch line where the vehicle crossed a church driveway before striking a culvert and going airborne. The Chevy then rolled over at least once.
The vehicle traveled about 75 yards after leaving the roadway.
The female driver was transported by EMS to Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
