One man has been charged in a road rage incident on Peonia Road (Hwy 88) in June.

Derek McClure, 43, of Munfordville, was indicted by a Grayson County Grand Jury on two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment (discharge of firearm) in the incident. The grand jury returned a No True Bill (failed to indict) finding on a first-degree assault allegation.

(First-degree wanton endangerment (discharge of firearm) was upgraded by the General Assembly to a class C felony (up to 10 years in prison) from a class D felony (up to five years in prison) in 2024.)

The indictment states that McClure, on Saturday, June 14, 2025, while “acting alone or in complicity with others, manifesting extreme indifference to human life, wantonly engaged in conduct which created a substantial risk of death or serious injury to” two victims.

The incident happened near the intersection of Peonia Road and St. Anthony Road and resulted in a female suffering serious injuries when she was struck by a vehicle. She was transported to University of Louisville Hospital.

McClure is the only person so far charged in the incident, which involved “several hundred motorcycles participating in a charity poker run and a pickup truck,” Kentucky State Police told K105.

It is possible additional participants could be charged in the case, as the Grayson Co. Commonwealth Attorney’s Office continues to review the incident, the office told K105.

On the day of the incident, McClure, who was one of the motorcyclists participating in the “Run for the Light” charity run and was shot in the shin, posted a statement on Facebook where he gave his account of what happened.
