An Adair County man is facing nearly a dozen child porn charges.
Kentucky State Police arrested 25-year-old Austin B. Beard, of Columbia, on Tuesday morning following an Undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation where the suspect was found to be sharing images of child exploitation online, state police said.
The investigation resulted in the execution of search warrant at a residence in Columbia on August 26 where equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination.
The investigation is ongoing.
Beard was charged with five counts of possession of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance (victim under the age of 18), five counts of possession of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance (victim under the age of 12) and procuring or promoting the use of a minor by electronic means.
He was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail.
