A woman was found suffering from a gunshot wound in her car alongside I-65.
The Louisville Metro Police Department responded Thursday morning at 3:45 to an accident on I-65 near Grade Lane, just south of the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport, according to a report by WAVE.com.
When police arrived at the scene, officers discovered a female inside a vehicle who had been shot. The woman, who was conscious, was transported to University of Louisville Hospital where she was taken into surgery. WAVE.com reports that the victim is expected to survive.
Police expect to release further information on the incident once they have an opportunity to speak with the victim.
