
An elderly driver traveling in the wrong direction on I-65 in Warren County has died in a two-vehicle crash.
The accident happened on Sunday afternoon at approximately 5:00 near the 15-mile marker of I-65, according to Kentucky State Police.
The state police investigation showed that a 1998 Cadillac Eldorado, being driven by 80-year-old Garland Johnson, of McDonough, Georgia, was traveling south in the northbound lanes when the vehicle collided with a 2017 Jaguar SUV, being driven by 36-year-old Mesa Reinier, of Hialeah, Florida.
Johnson was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Warren County Coroner’s Office. Reinier was airlifted to TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
