Francis “Frankie” Marion Barnard Jr., age 50, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Thursday, (August 28, 2025) at Taylor County Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, KY. He was born on June 13, 1975 in Hardinsburg, KY, the son of the late Francis Marion Barnard, Sr. and Virginia Lucille Broughton Barnard.
Frankie worked construction on businesses and nonresidential sites. He enjoyed his work. Frankie also loved woodworking, tinkering on old cars, and listening to music, especially rock music. He leaves behind a pet rabbit, Joseph Bugs Bunny “Joe,” whom he loved and trained. “Joe” followed him around
just like a little dog.
He is survived by his sister, Rhonda Mitchell of Clarkson and his brother, Herbert Barnard of Leitchfield; nephews, Timothy, Robert, and Aaron Barnard all of Leitchfield, and Tyler Mullins of Clarkson; and his great-nephews, Dalton Cole of Louisville, Landon Barnard of Leitchfield, and Joshua Mullins of Clarkson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Following his wishes, cremation was chosen and will under the direction of the Dermitt Funeral Home.
