
Police are investigating after a woman was killed by a pack of dogs.
The Knox County Sheriff’s Office said the incident happened on Friday afternoon at approximately 2:30 in Flat Lick when 44-year-old Priscilla Jones was walking on Sandy Branch Road.
“Ms. Jones was attacked and severely injured by a pack of dogs roaming the area,” the sheriff’s office said.
The East Knox Fire Department found Jones suffering from life-threatening injuries, as she was unable to communicate, police said.
Jones was transported to Barbourville Appalachian Regional Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
The investigation is ongoing.
