Foul play is suspected in the death of an inmate at the Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex.
Kentucky State Police said investigators responded Sunday morning at approximately 8:50 to the medium/minimum security prison in West Liberty in Morgan County after an inmate, 34-year-old Robert A. Broyles, of Louisville, was found unresponsive in his cell.
Broyles was transported to Morgan Co. Appalachian Regional Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
“The preliminary investigation reveals that foul play is suspected, but this is subject to change as the investigation continues,” state police said.
The ongoing investigation is being led by KSP Det. Matt Martin.
