Three people, including two small children, were slightly injured in a single-vehicle rollover crash on Millerstown Road (Hwy 224), as a Good Samaritan stopped and assisted the occupants out of the crashed SUV.
Clarkson Officer Blake Elmore, Constable Bill Dalton, the Clarkson Fire Department, and EMS responded to the accident Wednesday afternoon at approximately 2:50 in the 2300 block of Millerstown Road.
Based on marks at the scene as well as witness statements, a Chevrolet Tahoe traveling east veered into the westbound lanes before reentering the eastbound lanes and leaving the roadway. The vehicle entered a ditch and rolled over at least once before coming to rest on its side.
A passing motorist, Shellie Webb, of Clarkson, stopped and pulled the female driver, also of Clarkson, and two small children out of the vehicle, according to first responders.
The children avoided serious injuries due to them being restrained by a five-point restraint, according to Dalton.
The occupants refused transport by EMS but they were transported to Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center by private means for treatment of minor injuries.
