A Barren County man has been charged with domestic violence murder.
Kentucky State Police said troopers responded on Thursday night at 10:00 to a residence on East Third Street in Park City after the body of a deceased female was discovered by the Barren County Sheriff’s Office.
The woman, identified as 35-year-old Brittney Harper, of Park City, had been shot.
State police said that following a preliminary investigation, 40-year-old Thomas J. Orlando, of Glasgow, was arrested and charged with murder (domestic violence) and first-degree wanton endangerment.
Orlando, according to a report by WCLU.com, left the residence following the shooting and was found by police at Union II Missionary Baptist Church cemetery in Eighty Eight, a small community in Barren Co. He was in possession of a fireman “consistent with the one used in the shooting incident,” WCLU.com. reports.
There were two minors at the residence at the time of the shooting.
Orlando was lodged in the Barren County Detention Center on a $1 million cash bond.
