Raymond Edward “Steve” Stevenson, age 86, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Wednesday, (September 03, 2025) at his home.
He was born on July 02, 1939 in Leitchfield, KY, the son of the late Floyd and Mary Clark Stevenson.
He worked for the United States Air Force until his retirement and enjoyed fishing and camping. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the American Legion, Post 81.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Nellie Heaverin Stevenson of Leitchfield, three daughters, Beth Stevenson Fowler of Tuscon, AZ, Brenda Stevenson of Leitchfield, Donna Keese (Bryan) of Anchorage, AK; five grandchildren, Garrett, Leigha, Corey, James “Jay” & Haleigh; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Martha Logsdon; and two brothers, Father Tony Stevenson & Pete Stevenson. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a two sisters, Helen Smith & Jo Ann Pawley; and four brothers, Leonard, Floyd, James, and Robert Stevenson.
Grave Services will be held at 11:15 a.m. Thursday, (September 11, 2025) at the St. Joseph Cemetery in Leitchfield. Father David Johnson will be officiating. A Prayer Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Dermitt Funeral Home.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until 11:00 a.m., at which time we will move to the Cemetery for Graveside Services.
