Myra Geraldine Ashley Madison, 97, of Lindseyville passed away peacefully with family by her side at Shanti Niketan Hospice House in Glasgow.

The Edmonson County native was a 1943 graduate of Kyrock High School where she was a cheerleader and basketball player, a homemaker, a former member of the Edmonson Co. Public Library Board; a former member of the Edmonson Center Board; a former homemakers club member and a member of Midway United Missionary Baptist Church.

She was a daughter of the late Ewing G. Ashley and Ruth Ellen Lindsey Ashley and the wife of the late Holman T. Madison. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Granville Ashley, David Ashley and Mark Ashley and two sisters, Evelyn Knox and Isabelle Vincent.

A life lived so fully is hard to put into a few sentences, but here are a few other noteworthy facts about Geraldine. Besides her faith, her family was always her No. 1 priority. She lived all but 3 years of her life in Lindseyville, and while away, she longed to be back home with family. As a high school student during World War II, she worked with some of her classmates who rode a bus to Bowling Green to make radio tubes to help with the war effort.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at Midway United Missionary Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will take place 4:00-7:00 PM Thursday at Gravil Funeral Home and after 9:00 AM Friday at the church.

Surviving are a daughter, Sharon Ganci of Glasgow; two sons, Tom Madison (Christi) of Signal Mtn, TN and Keith Madison (Sharon) of Wilmore; six grandchildren, Ryan Ganci (Lindy), Chad Madison (Cindy), Sara Beth Madison, Jordan Madison (Taylor), Austin Madison (Stacey) and Tyler Madison; six great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
