A Grayson County man has reached a plea deal in a child sex case.

In October 2022, Cody Wayne Bratcher, 33, of Leitchfield, was listed by the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office as one of the county’s most wanted suspects, as Bratcher was being sought for promoting a minor (under the age of 16) in a sexual performance, a class B felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison, and prohibited use of an electronic communication system to procure a minor for sex offenses or other prohibited activities, a class C felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

Bratcher was arrested on an indictment warrant by the Grayson Co. Sheriff’s Office in November 2022, according to the arrest citation.

According to sentencing documents, Bratcher committed the offenses between December 10, 2020, and January 6, 2021.

In June 2025, sentencing documents state that the promoting a minor (under the age of 16) in a sexual performance charge was dismissed without prejudice (meaning the charge can be refiled at a later date). In exchange, Bratcher pled guilty to prohibited use of an electronic communication system to procure a minor for sex offenses or other prohibited activities.

On Tuesday, Bratcher was sentenced to one year in prison. Upon his release, he will be on the Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry for 20 years and is required to complete a Sex Offender Treatment Program.

He must also have no contact with and stay at least 500 feet away from the victim. Bratcher will be on parole for five years following his release.
