A Grayson County woman has been arrested after having a DUI crash with two small children in the car.
The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, East Grayson Fire Department and EMS responded to the wreck Sunday night at approximately 8:50 in the 100 block of St. Paul Road (Hwy 720).
Upon arriving at the scene, first responders found that a Chevrolet Malibu, being driven east by 26-year-old Kayleigh L. Wease, went straight in a curve as the Chevy approached a set of railroad tracks. The vehicle left the roadway and entered a grassy area before traveling down an embankment where it flipped onto its top adjacent to the tracks.
The two children in the vehicle, ages three- and five-years-old, were evaluated at the scene by EMS and found to be unhurt except for a minor injury to one child. They were turned over to family members.
Wease, who suffered only minor injuries, was given a field sobriety test and arrested.
She was charged with DUI and two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment and lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.
