A Leitchfield woman is facing a litany of charges after being accused of assaulting a male, driving a vehicle into a front porch and resisting arrest.
The Leitchfield Police Department responded Friday night at approximately 6:00 to a report of a domestic assault on Central Avenue.
Upon arriving at the scene, police found the male victim “bleeding from the chin with a large hole, all the way to the bone,” according to the arrest citation. The victim also displayed cuts and scratches on his face.
The suspect, 37-year-old Kayla J. Breeding, “was on the porch shouting and when she stood up, she threw two fishing reels” toward the victim. She was instructed by law enforcement to stop but Breeding failed to do so. As officers attempted to take her into custody, she resisted but was eventually placed into handcuffs.
According to the citation, “The porch steps were nearly destroyed and blood was visible on the porch. A support post was also considerably damaged.”
Further investigation showed that Breeding had driven a vehicle into the porch, and in doing so, injured the victim.
Multiple witnesses, the citation states, told officers that Breeding had struck the victim “multiple times” before driving the vehicle into the porch.
Officers noted that five children were either in the house or on the porch when Breeding crashed the vehicle into the porch.
Breeding, while being questioned, admitted to police that she had ingested multiple drugs, including hydrocodone, gabapentin and a THC cart, according to the arrest citation.
During a search of the vehicle, police found multiple gabapentin pills and clonazepam.
Breeding was given a field sobriety test and arrested. She was charged with second-degree assault, fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), DUI (aggravating circumstances), six counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, resisting arrest, and prescription controlled substance not in its proper container.
She was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.
