An elderly Grayson County woman has been hospitalized following a seven-vehicle accident in Leitchfield.
Leitchfield Police Department Sgt. Keith Harrell and Det. Eric Miller, the Leitchfield Fire Department and EMS responded to the accident Wednesday afternoon at approximately 3:05 in the 1600 block of Elizabethtown Road (Hwy 62).
Upon arriving at the scene, first responders found that a westbound Subaru Outback, being driven by a 77-year-old Grayson County woman, drifted into the eastbound lane and struck a Honda, whose female driver took evasive measures, resulting in the Subaru only clipping the passenger side front of the vehicle.
The Outback then continued into the parking lot of a strip mall, where the vehicle struck two more vehicles, causing those vehicles to hit three cars, police said.
One of the parked vehicles that were struck, a Jeep, contained a woman and her infant son. Both were uninjured, according to police. The driver of the Honda, of Leitchfield, was also not hurt.
The elderly driver of the Subaru was transported by EMS to Baptist Health Hardin.
