The Grayson County Healthcare Foundation announced the awarding of two full scholarships to students enrolled in Elizabethtown Community & Technical College’s (ECTC) Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program.
Kelzey McCubbin and Isabelle Pile were formally awarded the scholarships during a ceremony held at the ECTC Leitchfield Campus earlier this month.
Each scholarship covers the full cost of tuition, books, and fees, allowing the recipients to focus entirely on their coursework and clinical training. In addition, the LPN students received essential clinical supplies, including scrubs, stethoscopes, and other equipment necessary for their rotations.
“The Foundation is committed to advancing healthcare education in our region,” said Steven Smith, Chairman of the Grayson County Healthcare Foundation Board. “By investing in students entering the nursing profession, we are not only helping them achieve their career goals but also strengthening the future healthcare workforce in our community.”
ECTC introduced the new LPN program to address the ongoing nursing shortage and expand local opportunities for students to enter the healthcare field. With the support of the Grayson County Healthcare Foundation, these inaugural students are well-equipped to succeed and ultimately serve patients in Grayson County.
“The Practical Nursing program not only allows students to start a high demand career faster, but it also plays a key role in developing the workforce Grayson County healthcare providers need to care for our community,” Practical Nursing Faculty Lead Tabitha Stevenson said. “We are so thankful for our partnership with the Grayson County Healthcare Foundation and their support of ECTC students.”
