A pedestrian has been struck and killed by a semi-truck.
Kentucky State Police said troopers responded to the accident Monday morning at approximately 4:00 near the 74-mile marker of I-24 in Christian County.
State police said the investigation showed that 36-year-old Stephen Adams, of Pleasant View, Tennessee, was driving a tractor-trailer west on I-24 when he saw a vehicle stopped on the shoulder of the roadway.
As Adams moved into the left lane to yield, he struck 29-year-old Kenneth Blackley, of Golden Valley, Minnesota, who state police said was “standing in the middle of the roadway.”
Blackley was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Christian County Coroner’s Office.
Adams was not injured.
The investigation is ongoing and is being led by Trooper Nathan Pedigo.
