A Grayson County man has been arrested after attacking vehicles with a rake and fighting with a trooper.

The incident began when a Kentucky State Police trooper was dispatched to Millwood Thursday afternoon at approximately 4:30 “to a male hitting vehicles with a garden rake” on Kefauver Road.

The trooper, upon arriving at the scene, located and detained the suspect, 24-year-old Jaydon E. Winters, of Millwood, according to the arrest citation.

The trooper requested Winters enter his cruiser “to allow cars to pass,” the citation states, as Winters had a “blank stare come over his face as he fled into traffic.”

Winters ran across both lanes of traffic onto the shoulder of the road, before running back across both lanes of traffic. The trooper gave chase and tased the suspect.

After gaining compliance, the trooper placed Winters in a seated position, as “Jaydon began to fight and attempt to get to his feet to flee,” the citation states.

Winters, according to the citation, attempted to get to his feet multiple times while kicking and striking the trooper.

Grayson County Sgt. Jason Luedke and Leitchfield Police Officer Bart Glenn arrived at the scene and assisted the trooper in restraining Winters until he became compliant.

After being taken into custody, Winters admitted to ingesting methamphetamine earlier in the day.

Winters was arrested and charged with third-degree assault of a police officer, felony wanton endangerment, resisting arrest, fleeing or evading police, public intoxication (excludes alcohol), third-degree escape, and second-degree criminal mischief, He was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.
