A western Kentucky couple has died in a motorcycle versus semi-truck accident.
Kentucky State Police responded to the crash on Thursday night at approximately 8:20 near the 75-mile marker of I-69 in Caldwell County.
The investigation showed that Gregory Standard, of Louisville, was driving a semi north when he observed a motorcycle have an equipment failure. The semi was traveling directly behind the motorcycle when it lost control, as Standard was unable to avoid hitting the motorcycle, state police said.
The motorcycle riders were identified as 55-year-old Michael McAlister, and his wife, 57-year-old Laura McAlister, both of Princeton, Kentucky.
Both McAlisters were pronounced deceased at the scene by the Caldwell County Coroner’s Office.
Standard was not injured.
