Human remains have been found in a garage in Owensboro.
The Owensboro Police Department said the body was discovered on Sunday just before noon in the 500 block of Hathaway Street, only a few blocks from the Ohio River.
The remains, which police said were in an “advanced state of decomposition,” were found by someone cleaning out a detached garage.
Detectives from the Owensboro PD Criminal Investigations Division, crime scene technicians from the Evidence Collection Unit and the Daviess Co. Coroner’s Office responded and processed the scene.
The identity of the deceased and the manner of death are undetermined, and are “pending a forensic examination,” the Owensboro PD said.
