
A 22-year-old man has been charged after shooting his brother in the face while playing with a gun.
The Georgetown Police Department arrested Brian Newman, of Georgetown, after he, while intoxicated and dancing, accidentally shot his brother in the face. The victim suffered a severed spinal cord, according to multiple media outlets.
The incident happened on Tuesday night at approximately 11:00 at Amerson Orchard Apartments.
Newman was charged with first-degree assault, a class B felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison. He was lodged in the Scott County Detention Center.
