Two people, including a woman convicted of multiple drug charges, have been jailed for trafficking in fentanyl in Butler County.

Kentucky State Police and the Butler County Sheriff’s Office arrived at a residence on Sunday on Caney Ford Road, about 10 miles south of Morgantown, to serve an arrest warrant, according to state police.

When police arrived at the address, they made contact with multiple people in a recreational vehicle where the odor of marijuana was detected.

During a search of the RV, officers located fentanyl, cash and several scales.

Police arrested 44-year-old Monica D. Morgan, of Fredonia, and 23-year-old Jachob T. Adams, of Russellville.

Both suspects were charged with trafficking in fentanyl, tampering with physical evidence and possession of drug paraphernalia and lodged in the Butler County Jail.

The investigation is ongoing.

Both suspects have lengthy arrest records, in addition to Morgan’s convictions for possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified, three times), identity theft, possession of methamphetamine (twice), and second-degree forgery in Warren, Todd and Logan counties, according to the Kentucky Department of Corrections.

Adams, according to online records, has been arrested numerous times in Logan County for possession of methamphetamine, public intoxication, third-degree criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, and theft by unlawful taking.
