Father and son killed in train vs. vehicle crash while on way the to work

A father and son were killed in a vehicle vs. train accident in Henderson County while on their way to work.

The accident happened on Tuesday morning in Robards, a small town about eight miles south of Henderson. The crash occurred near Cherry Hill Road and Robards-Busby Station Road, according to a report by WFIE.com.

The father and son worked for Moss Contracting, which released the following statement:

“This morning, two of our team members, a father and son, tragically lost their lives on their way to work. We are deeply saddened by this loss and grieve alongside their families. Moss stands with their loved ones in support during this incredibly difficult time.”

Police told WFIE.com that the vehicle was pushed about 2,000 feet by the train. The railroad crossing did not have crossing arms or lights.
