Gov. Andy Beshear joined leaders of Kingspan Group PLC, parent company of Tate, at the company’s Ireland headquarters, where company executives confirmed plans to locate Tate’s largest North American facility in Glasgow.
The $61.2 million project represents the largest job-creation announcement in Barren County in 18 years and will create 400 new full-time manufacturing jobs once the 764,000-square-foot facility is fully operational.
“We are thrilled that Tate plans to make Glasgow their New Kentucky Home with the largest job creation project we’ve seen in Barren County in almost 20 years,” Beshear said. “Kentucky has secured our place as a manufacturing leader with our skilled workforce and prime location, and companies across the globe are taking notice. I want to thank the leaders at Tate and Kingspan for choosing to invest in the commonwealth, and I look forward to seeing their success and future growth.”
State and local leaders in Barren County coordinated with company leadership to bring the new manufacturing operation to Glasgow, which will be the company’s first location in Kentucky. Once fully operational, the facility will manufacture high performing thermal management and airflow solutions engineered to optimize efficiency and reliability in the most demanding of data centers.
Founded in 1963 and headquartered in Columbia, Maryland, Tate is recognized globally as an innovator in the design and manufacture of critical data center infrastructure solutions such as structural aisle containment including manifolds, structural ceiling solutions, as well as raised access floors, the governor’s office said.
Tate currently employs more than 1,800 employees across 21 facilities globally. The company, a subsidiary of Irish listed company Kingspan Group PLC, has a global footprint that includes 273 facilities and more than 27,000 employees across 80 countries.
