A hunter has been killed after a teenage hunter mistook him for a deer in Lincoln County.
The incident took place on Saturday night when 67-year-old Daniel Wilson was “scouting for deer and looking for squirrels on family property,” according to a report by WKYT.com.
He was then shot in the leg by a teenager who was hunting with his father.
Wilson, who suffered extreme blood loss, was transported to Ephraim McDowell Ft. Logan Hospital in Stanford where he was pronounced deceased.
“Of course, his injury did sever a major artery in his leg. A large amount of blood loss,” Lincoln County Coroner Farris Marcum told the Lexington television station.
