A man in a horse-drawn wagon was killed after being rear-ended in Casey County.
Kentucky State Police said troopers responded to the accident on Tuesday morning at approximately 7:20 on Hwy 127.
The state police investigation showed that 20-year-old John Gingerich, of Liberty, was traveling north in a “horse-drawn wagon.”
“The wagon,” state police said, “was not equipped with rear-facing lights or a slow-moving vehicle reflective placard.”
A Kia Sedona, being driven by 33-year-old Jacob Goodman, of Columbia, was also traveling north and failed to see the carriage and struck it in the rear.
Gingerich was transported to Casey County Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Goodman was not injured but three juvenile passengers in his vehicle were transported to the Casey County Hospital with minor injuries.
