Leitchfield felon accused of drug trafficking, drug trafficking near a school

A Leitchfield man has been arrested on warrants charging him with drug trafficking, drug trafficking near a school and being a persistent felony offender.

Dominic Dichiara, 25, was recently arrested by the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office on three indictment warrants out of Grayson County charging him with multiple felonies, including three counts of trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), three counts of trafficking in a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, and three counts of persistent felony offender.

The three arrest citations say the offenses took place on December 11, 2024, and June 11, 2024. A fourth indictment for non-payment of court costs was also served on Dichiara.

He is lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.

The suspect’s history with law enforcement

In March 2023, Dichiara by the Leitchfield Police Department after he was spotted walking along Mill Street. Police knew the suspect had warrants for his arrest.

During a search of Dichiara, police located methamphetamine.

The citation states that Dichiara displayed “extremely dilated” pupils, with the suspect telling police he recently smoked methamphetamine.

He was charged in that case with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and public intoxication (excludes alcohol) and lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.

In November 2022, while on pre-trial diversion related to a drug arrest, Dichiara was arrested on drug charges by then Grayson County Sgt. Erik Franklin and Probation and Parole officers after responding to a “drug/firearm” complaint at a residence in the 500 block of Salt River Road.

Upon arriving at the home, police made contact with Dichiara when Franklin, after the suspect placed his hands in his pockets, asked him if he “had anything on his person.” Dichiara responded that “it was in his pocket,” the citation states.

Franklin then found about two grams of methamphetamine in Dichiara’s pants pocket.

In that case, Dichiara was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine).

Additionally, he was convicted in May 2021 in Grayson County for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and tampering with physical evidence after a March 2021 arrest, according to the Kentucky Department of Corrections.

He is on parole until September 2026.

The arrest citations state that Dichiara’s current home address is in South Point, Ohio.
