Richard Lee “Ricky” Wooden, age 66, of Millwood, KY, passed away Sunday, (October 26, 2025) in Leitchfield, KY. He was born on November 06, 1958, in Clarkson, KY, the son of the late Kenneth D. Wooden and Patsy Louise Gore Miller.
Ricky was employed at Bailey Lumber for 41 years. He later retired from the Grayson County Detention Center after working for 3 years as a deputy jailer. He loved working puzzles, Legos, and Star Trek. He loved to watch Hallmark Christmas Movies on television. Ricky’s favorite music was from the 1970s and 1980s. His favorite past time however, was being around his family, especially his grandchildren.
He married Lori Nelson on November 27, 1981.
Ricky is survived by his loving wife, Lori Nelson Wooden; son, Jonathan Wooden (BJ); daughters, Jennifer Armes and Amber Wooden; his adored grandchildren, Tristan and Haylee Wooden, Vash Armes, Harper and Draven Wooden, and Tidus and Raven Wooden-King; sisters, Cindy Paris (JC), Kim Heady (Charles), Cami Beard, Trenda Reed, and Teresa Wooden; and several nieces and nephews.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Tim Wooden.
Cremation was chosen, and will be under the direction of the Dermitt Funeral Home. A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held at the Millwood Community Center on Wednesday October 29, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
