Imagine you’re opening a newly delivered package and instead of the medicine you ordered, you find body parts.
That’s what happened to a Hopkinsville woman on Wednesday when she opened a package and found human body parts.
The delivery, which contained “arms and fingers,” Christian County Coroner Scott Daniel told news outlets, was the culmination of mistakes made by an airline company, a freight company and a courier, according to WHOPAM.com.
The woman was expecting medicine she ordered.
The body parts received by the woman were intended to be used in surgical training, Daniel said.
The body parts were recovered from the woman and stored at the Christian County morgue. They were given back to the courier on Thursday morning for delivery to the intended recipient.
Daniel told WSMV.com that body parts are often shipped for use during transplants or for research.
