
Three people are facing fentanyl and methamphetamine trafficking charges after Owensboro police executed two search warrants earlier this week.
The Owensboro Police Department said in a social media post that its Street Crimes Unit executed the warrants at a hotel in the 500 block of West 2nd Street and at a residence in the 800 block of George Street during the early morning hours of Tuesday.
The search warrants were the result of an “illegal narcotics distribution investigation,” according to Owensboro police.
Arrested at the hotel were 25-year-old Logan W. Husk, and 33-year-old Mallory A. Carter, both of Owensboro, where police recovered a large amount of fentanyl pills, methamphetamine, marijuana, two firearms, cash, and drug paraphernalia.
The second search warrant, executed at Husk’s home, resulted in the arrest of 47-year-old Mary K. Martinez, of Owensboro, after police discovered additional fentanyl pills, methamphetamine, cash, a stolen firearm, and drug paraphernalia.
Also at the home were two children.
Husk was charged with charged with trafficking in a controlled substance (fentanyl), two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), two counts trafficking in a controlled substance (fentanyl, methamphetamine — charges enhanced due to the presence of a firearm), possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of and trafficking in marijuana, receiving stolen property (firearm), and possession of a controlled substance.
Carter was charged with two counts trafficking in a controlled substance (fentanyl, methamphetamine — charges enhanced due to the presence of a firearm), possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and trafficking in marijuana.
Martinez was charged with two counts trafficking in a controlled substance (fentanyl, methamphetamine), endangering the welfare of a minor, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
All three suspects were lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center. Husk is being held on two bonds totaling $75,000 cash, Carter on $50,000 cash bond and Martinez on a $25,000 cash bond.
