
The murder of a Meade County woman on Monday marked the third murder of a Kentucky woman in 12 days.
As K105 reported on Monday night, the latest murder took place in Meade County on Monday, as 55-year-old Mary Crase, of Ekron, was found deceased on Monday afternoon at her residence from a gunshot wound. The suspect, a Breckinridge County man, 45-year-old Scott Hornback, of Irvington, fled the scene and was found deceased late Monday night.
The previous two murders
On Wednesday morning October 29 at approximately 12:40, the Simpsonville Police Department responded to Veechdale Apartments in the 200 block of Buck Creek Road on the report of shots fired, K105 previously reported.
Upon arriving at the apartment, police found a female suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The woman has been identified as 41-year-old Brenda Selene Chiquita Acua, of Simpsonville. The case, police said, is being investigated as a homicide.
“I just heard a lot of loud noise and commotion,” a neighbor told WAVE.com. “I thought someone was banging on the door. But I don’t know if it was that or the shot. I just wish that this didn’t happen.”
No arrests have been made.
