
A Breckinridge County man has died after being hit by a vehicle.
The Custer Fire Department and Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Office responded to the accident last Thursday, October 30 at approximately 8:15 p.m.
The incident occurred in the 4600 block of east Hwy 86 when 65-year-old Gary Allen Lucas, of Custer, was struck by a vehicle. According to a source, Lucas was retrieving his mail when he was fatally struck.
According to his obituary, Lucas “was an avid fisherman and loved UofL basketball. He also enjoyed golfing and fishing.”
“He was,” according to his obituary, “a man of simple things and a simple life.”
