Gladys L. Duvall, age 88, of Millwood, KY, passed away Monday, (November 3, 2025) at her residence
surrounded by her family. She was born on July 11, 1937 in Little Cypress, KY, the daughter of the late Melvin Charles Smith and Thelma Smith Wells.

Gladys dedicated nearly 40 years of her life to the United States Postal Service. She not only loved her job but also the community she served. A proud member and former vice president of the Kentucky National League of Postmasters, she was honored as Kentucky Postmaster of the year – a testament to her commitment and excellence.

She found joy in crocheting and left behind many beautiful afghans. During her last hospital stay, she spent her time crocheting pumpkins to give to the staff as a gesture of gratitude. She also enjoyed working on word search puzzles. She adored being “Mamaw” to her grandsons and great-granddaughters. One of her greatest blessings was being able to meet and hold her newest great-granddaughter, Brynn –a wish God graciously granted.

Gladys was also a proud Kentucky Colonel and a devoted member of Liberty Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Barry Dale Duvall (Cheryl) of Millwood; grandchildren, Clay Thomas Duvall (Allison) of Lexington and Cody Watkins Duvall (Michele) of Morgantown; great-grandchildren, Gwendolyn Rose Duvall and Brynn Elizabeth Duvall; sisters, Betty Darnell of Clinton, TN and Sue Buckles (Steve) of Leitchfield.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell T (Bub) Duvall; son, Rickey Thomas Duvall; daughter-in-law, Lorie Duvall and her brother, M.C Smith.

Cremation was chosen and a graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, (November 12, 2025) at the Stephen Layman Cemetery (8270 Beaver Dam Rd. Millwood, KY 42762.) Bro. Jerry Toler will be officiating.
