Slick roadways are to blame for a fatality accident in Hardin County.
The crash happened Monday morning at approximately 5:50 in the 20000 block of Dixie Hwy (Hwy31-W) in West Point in Hardin County.
The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office said its investigation showed that the driver of a northbound 2000 Ford Ranger, 24-year-old Joseph White, of Muldraugh, lost control “due to weather-related road conditions (and) crossed into the opposite lane,” striking a southbound 2024 Toyota Camry, being driven by 24-year-old Robert Vinegar, of Louisville.
Just after the initial crash, another vehicle struck the Camry.
White and Vinegar were transported to University of Louisville Hospital. White was later pronounced deceased, while Vinegar suffered life-threatening injuries.
The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office Reconstruction Unit investigated the crash.
