Cub Run man facing homicide charge in Hart Co. DUI crash that killed 26-year-old woman

A Cub Run man has been charged after a two-vehicle DUI crash killed a Horse Cave woman.

Kentucky State Police told WNKY.com that 45-year-old Randy Hawkins was charged on Friday with vehicular homicide when under the influence of alcohol in the April 2025 crash that killed 26-year-old Jordan D. Pippen. He was also charged with DUI (aggravating circumstances).

The vehicular homicide charge is a class B felony, punishable by up to 20 years in prison.

Hawkins was lodged in the Hart County Jail on a $250,000 cash bond.

As K105 reported in April, Kentucky State Police said troopers responded to the accident Friday morning, April 25 at approximately 6:00 in the 5100 block of Cub Run Hwy (Hwy 88).

The state police investigation showed that a 2015 Ford F-150, being driven Hawkins, was traveling on Cub Run Hwy when he crossed the center line and collided with a 2010 Nissan Maxima, being driven by Pippin.

Pippin was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Hart County Coroner’s Office.

The investigation was led by KSP Det. Bo Hubbard.
